Nan joined the lab in summer 2023, working on our FDA-BAA funded project to develop bioinformatics tools for identification of plant species from mixed sources using Angiosperms353.

Nan got his PhD from Texas Tech University in 2023, working on the genomics of sex determination in Salicaceae (Salix and Populus).

Nan finished his post-doc at TTU in January 2025 and began a post-doc at the University of Maryland working with the Joint Food Safety and Nutrition Center, continuing to work on identifying plants from unknown products.
